Representatives of the Newsrooms Introduce Students to Media Operations
Representatives from these newsrooms introduced the students to the organizational structure of their media outlets, the daily responsibilities of journalists, and the process of creating Blic’s print editions. Editors and journalists also explained the coordination process between print and online formats, as well as how decisions are made regarding which content is published first online and which is reserved for print editions.
Sportal Editor Vladimir Filipović provided insights into analytics, including tracking content readership, audience origins, time spent on the site, and the importance of these data points for companies advertising in the media. He also emphasized the importance of tailoring content to different platforms, such as portal homepages, Google search, social media, and video content.
In both newsrooms, aspiring journalists were reminded that a passion for the profession is one of the key prerequisites and recipes for success in journalism
