During the marathon, biographies of <strong>twelve women from Serbian history who left a significant mark but had not had their own Wikipedia pages until now<\/strong> were created and expanded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Ringier Serbia | First EqualVoice Edit-a-Thon\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/mToV1UiIiIM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This unique effort is part of an <strong>international initiative launched by media company Ringier in 2019 in Switzerland<\/strong>, which <strong>Ringier Serbia joined in 2023<\/strong>, using the <strong>EqualVoice Factor analytical tool<\/strong> to measure and improve the balance of women\u2019s and men\u2019s presence in media content. The edit-a-thon is a continuation of efforts to restore to women who have shaped our society their rightful place in <strong>digital history<\/strong>, where data shows that <strong>only 19 percent of biographical articles on Serbian Wikipedia belong to women<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Participants of the marathon \u2013 journalists, editors, librarians, and volunteers \u2013<\/strong> with the support of the <strong>Wikimedia Serbia team<\/strong> and after prior training, created in just a few hours biographies of the following women: <strong>Vukosava Davidovi\u0107, Zagorka Gavrilovi\u0107, Tanja Deli\u0107, Jelena Danilovi\u0107, Katarina Damijan Zelenika, Jelena Ban, Mirjana Deve\u0111i\u0107, Mirjana Babi\u0107 \u0160ujica, Branka Gavrilovi\u0107, Smiljka Gabeli\u0107, Ljiljana Babi\u0107, and Jelena Vajs Belo\u017eanski<\/strong>.
